Your Guide to a playful Proposal!

Hello lovebirds everywhere!   Cupid’s arrow is about to fly, and hearts are aflutter with the whispers of “proposal season.” But hold on – before you get swept away by the Valentine’s Day marketing madness remember that although February 14th might be the time-honoured chosen day for declarations of devotion, and make it easier to remember anniversary dates, it doesnt have to be cheesy or pressured either.

So, why not ditch the pressure, and embrace your sense of fun and freedom.  Throw out the idea of a forced, cookie-cutter proposal just because “the day” is here and everywhere you look it seems like heart shapes dominate the merchandise! Instead, let’s focus on celebrating your unique love story with an experience that reflects your adventurous hearts and playful side. Because let’s face it,  a proposal tailored to your awesome personality is bound to be a thousand times more memorable than a generic one!

Forget the Pressure, Embrace your Playful side!

Remember, the most important ingredient in a proposal is not the date, but the love between you two. So, take a deep breath and let go of any expectations. Your partner wants your genuine emotions, not a performance  for social media likes.

Let the proposal be a natural extension of your relationship, filled with your shared sense of humour and love for adventure.

Think Outside the Box:

Forget the crowded restaurants and predictable proposal scenes. Instead, think about what makes your connection truly special. Are you mountain climbers? Propose during a breathtaking sunrise at your favourite peak. Do you share a love of music or art? Surprise your partner at a concert by their favourite band or artist, or take them to their go-to gallery and pop the question!

Here are some ideas to inspire you!

  • Solve the Clues – Embark on a scavenger hunt filled with inside jokes and meaningful memories, leading to the final question!
  • Sailing Serenade –Hire a sailboat for a romantic sunset cruise and stop at a beauty spot and pop the question (with bubbles!)
  • Romance in Nature- Organize a stargazing picnic under a breathtaking night sky, popping the question as the moon and stars are your witness.
  • Time Travel – Recreate your very first date, adding special touches and ending with the big question !
  • Pet Proposal- If you have a fur baby, incorporate them into the proposal with a cute sign or message attached to their collar.

Remember, the key is to keep it personal, playful, and true to your unique love story. After all, it’s about celebrating your journey together, not conforming to anyone else’s opinions and ideas.

And hey, if Valentine’s Day feels too mainstream, choose a date that holds special meaning for you instead.  Your anniversary, the day you met, the day you became “official”,  had your first holiday (or even first fight and make up sesh), the time you got a couples tattoo, or something along those lines.  The date is just a detail; the love is the starring attraction.

So, my message is, embrace the joy of the moment, and allow your playful side to help you to create a moment for the proposal that’s uniquely yours.

And once that part is over, remember that this is the magical time where promises are made, and plans and dreams of a life together are created.  Enjoy the time that follows, and don’t rush into wedding planning too soon.

When the time comes, get in touch with me and let’s continue the magic and the adventure together!
