As a Weddding Celebrant, I often find myself reflecting on the incredible journey each couple takes from the initial consultation to the magical moment they say “I do.” As we go through the process together, I get closer to the heart of their relationship, their hopes, challenges and of course the foundation of their love for each other, what grounds them, and what they will always promise to be and do for each other, so that they offer a safe and secure space for them to grow as individuals and in their marriage.
Their love story is as unique as they are – something we always like to say! But it is true! I always feel honoured and priviledged to be a part of their journey and to stand with them. Their relationship has been guided by their goals, their dreams, emotions, and the unique tapestry of their love story, which culminates with their Ceremony, the pinnacle of this adventure they have been on together as individuals, and which they will continue as partners, lovers, friends, and as each others family.
So for me, the aftermath is both joyful and a little wistful as I really feel I have begun to know my couple so well. After the photos and the bubbly, this Celebrant leaves to go home, and to reflect on what is to me one of the happiest of life’s milestone moments. I can only hope that I have given them the best possible memories, and that the glow of the moment remains with them, after the beautiful chaos has shifted down a few gears!
After they return home, I send them a digital version of their script, vows, certificate, readings and messages – so that there is always a back up or perhaps they wish to share the script with those unable to be with us on their day.
I also take this moment to ask for a favour – to leave me their feedback about their experience, and my services, in any format, email, social media or text message. It really cheers and warms my heart, when lovely kind words are shared by the couples I’ve had the honour to create ceremony for, and to stand and hold space with.
A review from a couple is a testimonial of the uniqueness of each ceremony – painting a vivid picture of the essence of their Wedding day with its laughter, tears, unique moments, and also the journey and process we have been on together.
As a Bilingual Celebrant, the ability to conduct ceremonies that not only include religion, faith, culture, heritage and storytelling, the importance of language to bridge gaps, making every guest feel included, has added an extra magic to the ceremony, and this too has been a highlight for many of my couples.
Reviews often highlight the impact of my personality, and how I have worked with the couple over the months of planning, sometimes even years of creating a reliable and supportive environment for us to discuss the content, format, tone, and style of their ceremony. Reviews often highlight the consistent support provided, from navigating reschedules to being that steady hand all the way through the process. They showcase some of the unique rituals and personalised elements that make every ceremony an extraordinarily special occasion.
As a Celebrant, these reviews are not just a measure of professional success. They are a testament to the commitment I hold for each couple, the dedication to making their celebration uniquely theirs, and the joy derived from being part of their journey.
