unity candle lighting 3

The Unity Candle Ceremony at a Wedding is where the couple hold two lit tapers, which represent their own individuality and personalities, qualities and talents. They then light a central larger pillar candle together at the same time. Their flames touch, and light the larger candle, which symbolises the joining of their lives and families. The warmth of the flame serves as the warmth of their love, which is constant. They place the Taper Candles in small holders next to the larger candle and allow this to burn during the whole ceremony. After this they blow the flames out together, and take them all home, to relight on their anniversary or some other special time where they want to share some exciting news or even make up after a quarrel.
