So nice to see this come up as a memory on my timeline the other day! Reminding me that H and M are celebrating their 3rd Wedding Anniversary- and also remembering this wonderful happy occasion! It was my great joy to create their ceremony. Having already exchanged rings at a previous ceremony in South Africa- where the groom was from - and not wanting to take them off to re-exchange in this their English wedding, they were really adventurous and decided to create a personal “joint work of art” in a Canvas Painting ritual! This was such fun - having prepared the scene and wearing huge aprons they chose their colours and created this colourful canvas! What a surprise for their guests too - which added to the sense of fun! Amidst lots of laughter and banter, they created their canvas and received a well deserved round of applause! It was a lovely memory and one that made me smile. Soooo Excited for This!!! This castle and the surrounding area is the location for my next wedding ceremony and I can’t wait to see my couple and experience the sheer joy of their special love story and their impressions of this beautiful location! So we are coming up to the 29th February and it’s a Leap Year -since way back in the 5th century when this tradition was created, custom has it that this is the day when a woman can propose! I’m pretty sure we are all more modern, enlightened and don’t need an actual date or any permission to pop the question to our partner but we do still seem to give Leap Year some romantic cred. While recent 2019 research by Chilliesauce.com found that under 50% of women would be happy to pop the question, an older study back in 2016 revealed that only 5% of women in the couples that participated had proposed.
