I have certainly had more time on my hands recently and with several of my ceremonies being postponed until later in the year or to 2021 I have not been able to share the excitement and thrill I get from looking forward or attending these wonderful occasions. . But no matter - I have been spending time connecting with my fellow celebrants online, learning to improve my social media skills and also updating my website with lovely photos and reviews as well as sharing my blogs more widely. . Today I want to share my tips on Planning a Bilingual Wedding. I have loved being able to offer ceremonies in two languages- English and German- for couples in the UK and in Europe. Language and meaning are such a huge part of storytelling - which is what my ceremonies focus on - and it’s an incredible joy to be able to include everyone in one of life’s major celebrations. But the ceremony words aren’t the only place to do this - a bilingual or multilingual wedding offers many more opportunities to use language and my blog offers tips and ideas on the different stages in the planning of your wedding where you can use language to help everyone feel special and included. . So nice to see this come up as a memory on my timeline the other day! Reminding me that H and M are celebrating their 3rd Wedding Anniversary- and also remembering this wonderful happy occasion! It was my great joy to create their ceremony. Having already exchanged rings at a previous ceremony in South Africa- where the groom was from - and not wanting to take them off to re-exchange in this their English wedding, they were really adventurous and decided to create a personal “joint work of art” in a Canvas Painting ritual! This was such fun - having prepared the scene and wearing huge aprons they chose their colours and created this colourful canvas! What a surprise for their guests too - which added to the sense of fun! Amidst lots of laughter and banter, they created their canvas and received a well deserved round of applause! It was a lovely memory and one that made me smile. Soooo Excited for This!!! This castle and the surrounding area is the location for my next wedding ceremony and I can’t wait to see my couple and experience the sheer joy of their special love story and their impressions of this beautiful location! I really am so lucky to be a part of their magical day and will be drinking it all in too!! The date is also my mums birthday- and I know she’d be enchanted too as she was always a big romantic.
